Shiva Shanker Elementary School is in Takru village of Machhapuchhare Rural Municipality ward number nine, where is mostly habitat by Tamang ,Brahmin and Chhetri people. Their little children have to go to Saitighatta for their early childhood learning which takes them two hours to get there. Due to the long distance the children end up not even going to school, not only they do not wish to go to school but their parents do not want them to walk 4 hours everyday which is understandable. Therefore, the Government decided to open an Elementary School in Takru however, they did not cover the basic education for the younger ones (ECD - Early Childhood development). Two years ago from the Himal Foundation we decided to assist with this by hiring a Teacher in the Elemantary school who can take care of the education of the younger ones. There are around sixteen children who can now participate of this class and develope social skills which we know is key for any child development and local families are happy to have the chance to give their youngest children access to education.
